California bar manager killed after being punched by customer who was asked to leave: police

The manager of a beloved California bar was beaten to death after asking several rowdy patrons to leave the establishment.

According to police, Leonard Hector Corpy, 26, is accused of punching the manager of Jameson’s Pub in Santa Monica during a fight outside the bar around midnight Tuesday.

The manager, whose identity has not been released, was unconscious and not breathing when police arrived on the scene.

Police attempted to revive the manager with CPR until the Santa Monica Fire Department arrived and attempted other “life-saving measures.”

The bar manager, who was not identified, was taken to hospital where he later died.

The victim was reported to be a man in his early 50s. KTLA.

Police said Corpi and two other customers involved in the deadly brawl were arrested and booked into the Santa Monica Jail.

“We are still in shock at the sudden loss of such a respected and highly-regarded member of our restaurant family,” a Jameson’s Pub spokesman said. He told the Sacramento Bee.

“He was well-liked by customers and staff alike and his death is a deep sadness for us all.”

Colpier, of Venice, has been charged with murder and is being held on $2 million bail.

The press release did not release the names of the other suspects.

It is unclear whether they have been released from prison.

Jameson’s Pub is located about a mile from the historic Santa Monica Pier.
