At least two people were arrested after shots rang out at a large teen party on Long Island on Thursday night, a day off from high school, Fox News reported.
A chaotic seniors holiday gathering in Long Beach, New York, on Long Island, turned violent, leaving at least one person shot. according to According to Fox News, the incident began when more than 2,000 young people gathered on the beach, overwhelming Long Beach police and then calling for help from Nassau County police. Witnesses said gunfire rang out at the scene.
“The next thing we heard was one gunshot, then several more,” one witness said. Said FOX 5. “All we saw was a flash and then we saw a bunch of girls start running. All we saw was a couple people stumbling.”

Eight gunshots suddenly rang out in rapid succession around 6 p.m., and officers raced to the source of the sounds, the Post reported. Two people were subsequently taken into custody, and a Long Beach Police officer provided further details of the dispersal operation.

“Earlier this morning a large group of over 2,000 young people was on our beach. The Long Beach Police Department, with the assistance of the Nassau County Police Department, dispersed the group. Part of the group went into the area of Edwards Boulevard and Park Avenue where one person was shot and killed,” officers told Fox 5.
The victim, described as a young adult male, was taken to hospital, but his age and current condition have not been released. According to Fox News, authorities suggested the mass gathering appeared to have been organized through social media and involved multiple schools.
