The principal suspects a dirty rat.
Ana de Jesus, science principal at York College Queens High School, one of the city’s nine elite specialized high schools, has asked a special investigator to look into whether “someone” placed a dead rat next to a school clerk’s computer mouse, an official told The Post.
In an email to QHSS officials on May 22, De Jesus said that secretary Sharda Goseen had discovered a dead mouse on her mouse pad that morning.
“I saw it myself when I came into work,” the principal said, sending me a photo of the unfortunate creature on his desk.
According to De Jesus, that may not be a coincidence.
“It’s possible that someone placed the rat there,” she wrote. “I have reported this incident to SCI for further investigation.”
De Jesus said the incident was “an act of harassment and may create a hostile environment.”
It’s unclear whether the office tasked with investigating misconduct by DOE employees will take a serious look at the “Mousegate” case.
“SCI has received this complaint and is currently evaluating the matter to determine next steps,” a spokesman said Friday.
