Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said the 911 system across Massachusetts was down on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference at the parade celebrating the Boston Celtics’ NBA Finals victory, Wu said the state’s emergency command center was overwhelmed by the “massive” power outage, according to Boston 25 News.

“911 is currently down across the state. If you have an emergency, please call the fire box,” the Boston Police Department said. “If you need assistance, please contact your local Boston Police Department.”
The department said it would be patrolling with blue lights on to increase visibility.
“The 911 system is currently down across the state. If you are experiencing an emergency and need assistance, please call your local fire department or call the Boston Fire Department at 617-343-2880,” the Boston Fire Department posted on X. “You can also go to your nearest fire station for assistance.”

“There is a major 911 outage in Massachusetts. Anyone needing fire service is urged to raise an alarm at their nearest fire box or call the fire department for service,” the Brockton Fire Department said in a statement.
The cause of the disruption has not been determined.
