Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Returns Key To New York City

Sean “Diddy” Combs has given his keys back to New York City, at the request of Mayor Eric Adams.

This was in response to a video which showed the disgraced music mogul attacking his then-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie.

Rep. Adams (R-NY) sent letters to Mayor Combs’ offices in New York and California earlier this month asking them to send the keys back to City Hall.

The mayor condemned Combs’ actions and said he was deeply troubled by the attack.

“Like so many people, I was deeply troubled by the recent video of Sean Diddy Combs assaulting his then-partner,” Adams said in the letter. “I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all victims of domestic and sexual violence. Our city has worked tirelessly to ensure that victims’ voices are heard and understood by our city government.”

“The Key to New York City is awarded to individuals whose contributions to the public and the public interest reach the highest levels of achievement and who serve as role models for their fellow New Yorkers and future New Yorkers,” Adams added.

“After internal deliberations, the New York City Key Committee has recommended that Mr. Combs’ keys be deactivated and revoked,” he concluded. “I accept the committee’s recommendation and ask Mr. Combs to immediately return his city keys. City records will be updated to reflect our decision.”

City officials confirmed the keys were returned last week.

Combs is scheduled to receive the key to New York City in September 2023.
