Rachel Morin’s mother slammed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for calling her daughter, who was killed by an illegal immigrant, an “individual” in an interview on Tuesday.

Rachel’s death and Martinez-Hernandez’s arrest have sparked a new wave of anger against the growing number of migrants crossing the southern border.

“The southern border is bleeding and we’re debating what bandaids to put on it, but we should be putting tourniquets on it to stop the bleeding and make sure something like Rachel Morin never happens again,” Rice added.
Investigators say Rachel was abducted on the Mom & Dad Hiking Trail in Bel Air, Maryland, and dragged into the woods.
Her body was discovered in a culvert on August 6th.
Martinez-Hernandez was already wanted for an earlier murder in El Salvador and for the brutal assault of a mother and a young girl in a home invasion in Los Angeles.
Authorities say the suspect passed through Mexico in 2023 and had been living in the country illegally since then.

Rachel’s sister told The Washington Post this week that she believes her sister’s suspected killer may have other victims.
