Former President Trump slammed Fox News on Thursday after the network released the first poll this year showing him trailing President Biden nationally.
The poll found that 50% of respondents said they would vote for Biden in November, while 48% said they would support Trump — a three-point increase for Biden since a Fox News poll last month gave Trump a one-point lead.
“The latest Fox News poll is garbage!” Trump said Authentic Social Posts“They used a biased Democratic-leaning voter sample and surveyed more Biden 2020 voters than Trump 2020 voters, skewing the results in favor of Crazy Joe.”
“I’m leading by a large margin in virtually every poll, including all the key battleground states, including Wisconsin, where I held a massive rally, and Pennsylvania, which I’ll be visiting on Saturday,” he continued.
“The Fox News pollsters have never treated me or MAGA fairly! Don’t worry, we will win!,” he added. “Fox News should fire Paul Ryan and hire a new pollster, but they won’t…”
Wednesday’s poll marks the first time Biden has topped 50 percent approval this election cycle and the first time he has led Trump in a Fox poll since October.
When third-party candidates are included, Biden leads Trump by one point, 43% to 42%. Independents Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West received 10% and 2% support, respectively, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 2%. A May poll of the candidates gave Trump a 3-point lead.
Biden leads Trump by nine points among independents, one of the most important demographics in the race, an 11-point shift from May, when Biden led Trump by two points among independents.
“The underlying demographic trends that have defined the race remain intact,” said Daron Shaw, the Republican pollster who conducted the survey. “Biden has seen modest gains in support among women and older voters, and he has maintained his support among younger voters and African-Americans, even as he has seen larger declines from 2020.”
An Emerson College/The Hill poll released Thursday found Trump leading Biden in battleground states, with four points in Arizona and Georgia, three points in Wisconsin and Nevada, and two points in Pennsylvania. Trump has a one-point lead in Michigan, and the two are neck and neck in Minnesota.
