Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) predicted Thursday that former President Donald Trump (R) will “win a landslide victory” in the next presidential election.
“I still believe this is his race. He was clearly the front-runner from day one, and he hasn’t lost that in the primaries or the general election. I’m confident he’ll win. I think he’ll win in a big way in November.” Huckabee Sanders Said On Thursday, he appeared on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” with hosts Bill Hemmer and Sandra Smith.
Huckabee Sanders, who served as White House press secretary under President Donald Trump, has been a long-time supporter of Trump, but has previously signaled he would not be interested in being vetted as Trump’s running mate.
“I love my job. I think this is one of the best jobs I could ever hope to have. I’m honored to serve as governor and hope to continue doing this for the next seven years,” Sanders said in an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” in January.
Sanders, in an interview with Fox News on Thursday, noted that Biden and Trump “both have proven records of being president,” and that Trump has been “successful” on issues like the economy and national security, which he said present a “big contrast” with Biden on those issues.
“These are two former presidents, so this election is going to be very different in that sense,” Huckabee Sanders said. “The reason people are going to go to the polls and vote is because this is where Donald Trump is beating Joe Biden so badly, and I think that’s why he’s going to beat Biden in November.”
Trump is leading Biden nationally by just 0.6 percentage points, with 44.5% to the incumbent’s 43.9%, according to an average of The Hill/Decision Desk polls. The two presidents are scheduled to debate for the first time on CNN next week.
