Legoland New York is hoping to break the world record for the “Largest Disco Dance Party,” and will be offering free admission to the first 2,500 people who show up to the park on June 24 wearing their “disco best.”
Legoland New York, the Goshen, New York-based theme park, said in a June 4 press release that guests must pre-register for the event on the Legoland New York website.
“Guests are encouraged to dress in disco-appropriate attire, which may include sparkly sequined clothing, glittery tutus, disco ball themed accessories and other disco themed attire,” the company said.

The company said in a statement that the record attempt was part of a celebration for Legoland New York’s newest attraction, Minifigure Skylark.
According to Legoland New York, the attraction, which opens to the public on June 24, is a gondola-style attraction that promises a “party in the sky” with seven themed “party pods.”

“The party begins on land, entertaining guests with an immersive processional experience filled with disco-inspired music and exclusive minifigure sky flyer dancing,” the release reads.
According to Stephanie Johnson, division director for Legoland New York, the “Minifigure Sky Flyer” will also act as a way for guests to easily access different sections of the park.

“There’s so much to do at LEGOLAND New York Resort, but it’s a huge park, so our guests told us they wanted an easier way to navigate between the park’s seven themed areas, and we listened,” Johnson said in the release.
“The Minifigure Sky Flyer offers an exciting solution that will spark creativity, fuel imaginations and allow visitors to enjoy the best aerial views of all the excitement happening in the park and the beautiful surrounding Hudson Valley,” Johnson added.
