If you’ve seen The Boys on Amazon Prime, you know that the main cast of superheroes are similar to Super-Zero: they’re extremely violent, greedy, and power-hungry. That’s the point, of course, as the series is designed to satirically invert superhero archetypes.
This unique concept has created a huge fan base.
“Since debut, [‘The Boys’ has] It continues to be one of the streaming platform’s highest-rated and best-performing shows.” Lauren Chen, resident film critic at BlazeTV.
However, now that the fourth season has concluded, the show’s popularity has declined dramatically.
Is it because the series is drowning in wokeness?
“I knew 100 percent from the beginning that the people behind The Boys were decidedly left-wing,” but “it was still worth watching,” Lauren says. “Until now.”

“The show has always been woke, but in my opinion, the previous wokeness was at least tolerable,” she said, adding that the complexity of the characters, the acting and the powerful dialogue make the show worth watching.
Plus, Lauren explains, “What makes the show bearable despite being a novelty is that in earlier seasons the writers weren’t afraid to put their side on the line.”
But it all came to an end with the debut of season 4, although all episodes of season 4 have yet to air.
Take the face of the series, Anthony Starr’s Homelander: once a complex character – power-hungry and corrupt, but also anxious and traumatized – he was simplified by the fourth season into little more than a “superhero fascist parody of Donald Trump.”
moreover,”[Homelander’s] “His followers, supporters or ‘home teamers’ (perhaps a play on Trump supporters?) are also evil, racists, fascists, sexists and conspiracy theorists.”
“Really, the first three episodes of season four…” [paint] “Homelander’s supporters, the ‘home team’, are Alex Jones-watching, Jew-hating, loser conspiracy theorists who are literally just waiting for a reason to attack and commit violence against their fellow Americans,” Lauren sighs.
“Starlight was once an actual character with a personality, but now she’s become a proxy for Democrats and feminists – ‘I’m for good and I hate bad,'” she says.
Similarly, her supporters, the “Starlighters,” represent the “good guys” who oppose racism and corporate corruption but support feminism.
In scenes where the Home Team and the Starlighters face off, the Starlighters are portrayed as non-violent “angels”, while Homelander’s supporters are portrayed as “violent” and “evil”.
The message is quite clear: red = bad, blue = good.
If you don’t believe Lauren, just take a look at the audience score on IMDB.
In season one, viewers gave the show a score of 90%, but that dropped to 83% in season two, 75% in season three, and now in season four, it sits at a dismal 52%.
Maybe people are growing tired of having progressive policies forced upon them when all they want is some good old fashioned entertainment.
