Vice President Kamala Harris said on MSNBC’s “Katie Tarr Report” on Friday that former President Donald Trump “spends all his time fighting for himself.”
“You’re going to see that contrast in this debate with Joe Biden. You know, many of the issues in our country and in the world are complex and nuanced, but November 2024 is a dichotomy. When you look at that contrast, I really want you to imagine what the world will look like on January 20, 2025,” Harris said.
She continued, “On one hand, we have Joe Biden, who has spent his life and career fighting for the well-being of others, including health care. On the other hand, we have a former president who tried his hardest to repeal Obamacare during his presidency, which would mean more than 100 million people would lose their health insurance if he were president again. On the other hand, we have Joe Biden, under his leadership, who has achieved bipartisan support for the first meaningful gun control bill in 30 years. On the other hand, we have a former president who, when talking about victims of horrific gun violence, tells them to get over it, and proudly tells the NRA that he did nothing about the issue.”
She added, “I could go on and on, but I think this debate really highlights the difference between a president who works for the American people and fights for the American people and a former president who spent almost all of his time fighting for himself.”
