Turning Point USA contributor Morgon McMichael told Breitbart News that the modern feminist movement is pushing an anti-women agenda, and that more young women are “going back to basics” to embrace femininity and traditional values.
The theme of this year’s TPUSA women’s event is “returning to our roots” and “instilling traditional values in the home, protecting our Constitution and upholding American values,” McMichael said at Turning Point USA’s annual Young Women’s Leadership Summit in San Antonio, Texas.
“What’s important is to maintain our traditional way of life, not be controlled by the government, to go back to our homes, to build strong nuclear families and to continue to create a strong generation that loves their country,” McMichael added.
The Turning Point USA contributor continued:
If you look at the feminist movement, the leftist movement of the last four years, I think women are tired of being fed the lies of feminism. We are women. We don’t want to compete with men. I think embracing femininity is a beautiful thing. Because when women embrace their natural femininity, men can embrace their masculinity and take on masculine roles.
Right now, our culture is emasculating men. They’re saying it’s okay for men to be feminine. In fact, there’s a whole genre of “soy boys” men that’s being pushed onto our next generation, and I think this is damaging to the future of America, because how are we going to continue to procreate and raise the next great generation if we’re destabilizing gender and the nuclear family?
“Men aren’t born to raise children,” McMichael said. “Women are born to raise children and take care of families.”
“The great irony is, when you talk to very left-leaning women, they still want a man who will provide for their family. They still want masculine energy. They still want a man who will raise their young sons,” she added.
“I find it really interesting that even the most left-wing people in our culture actually want manly men, so why are they preaching a culture of de-masculinity to the next generation with the feminist movement,” she said.
McMichael also spoke about how modern feminism works against women’s natural interests.
“A lot of the feminist movement has been lumped together with the pro-abortion movement as a pro-women movement,” she says, “as well as men competing in women’s sports, but I don’t understand: How has the transgender movement become a pro-women movement as well?”
“The feminist movement, the transgender movement, the pro-life movement. What these three movements have in common is that they are anti-women. They are against the way women are meant to act.”
McMichael also said birth control and dating apps have fostered a destructive “hook-up culture” in society, leaving many men and women single and frustrated.
“Look at the side effects, the long list of side effects, of the birth control movement,” she said, “and even if you go back to when the birth control movement started, it all started with Margaret Sanger and the eugenics movement.”
“It’s a form of population control and I don’t think people realise that all this ‘women’s empowerment’ stuff is really self-deprecating, because having multiple sexual partners is not empowering,” McMichael added.
“The problem is, as Gen Z, we’re so used to the instant gratification of getting likes and comments and follows — our craving for social media — that when we look at dating apps, we see that same energy and attention,” McMichael said of dating apps.
“The hook-up culture continues to persist,” she added. “I really think that women and men need to look within themselves and embrace traditional values.”
