He’s bringing back Dopey.
It turns out pop star Justin Timberlake might have been able to avoid an entire drunk driving spree in the Hamptons if he’d just listened to some wise words from the young police officer who later handcuffed him.
A local police source told The Post that Timberlake, 43, was actually stopped twice on Tuesday morning in Sag Harbor, Long Island.
The first time, I was warned not to continue the trip.
“He was pulled over and advised not to drive,” a source said of the “Cry Me a River” singer. “The officers didn’t realize he was a young man. Still, they gave him a reprieve because Justin doesn’t pose an immediate danger.”
“The 23-year-old officer thought that was it, this guy was going to be sent home,” the source said.
However, “minutes later,” while officers were patrolling another part of the village, the same officer saw Timberlake again driving a 2025 BMW SUV and pulled the vehicle over, the source added.
“How stupid,” the source recalled. “To think they could afford to hire a driver. What’s with the sense of entitlement?”
Timberlake He was issued a second traffic stop after allegedly ignoring a stop sign at a four-way intersection and swerving his SUV into the left lane.
The man, a married father of two who acknowledged he had a problem with “excessive drinking” in the past, told police he had had one martini at the historic American Hotel, where he was having dinner with friends. a source told Page Six..
It’s unclear who he dined with, but several musicians, including Jennifer Lopez, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, have homes there, as well as music industry heavyweights like Lyor Cohen.
After being asked to exit the vehicle, Timberlake attempted to pass several field sobriety tests “with unsuccessful results,” according to court documents.
Update on Justin Timberlake’s DUI arrest
The “Suit and Tie” singer was asked three times to blow into a breathalyzer but refused, and officers wrote in their reports that Timberlake was unsteady on his feet, slurred his speech and smelled strongly of alcohol.
His eyes were “hollow” and bloodshot, the report said.
During his second tour, Timberlake reportedly lamented the impact his arrest had on his world tour. He performed in Chicago on Friday, telling fans, “It’s been a tough week. I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you all continue to love me.”
He is scheduled to perform in New York next week.
He “sighed in frustration” while in custody.
His friends are said to be upset by the media reports.
“He was having dinner with his friends.” a friend told NewsNation’s Paula Frohlich.calling the rookie officer “a typical Hamptons over-zealous cop.”
“He had Justin take a breathalyzer test, which Justin complied with. The man then continued to pester Justin and demanded that he take a breathalyzer, to which Justin wisely and understandably said no.”
The American Hotel’s restaurant and bar is popular with celebrities and is a regular visitor to rock icon Billy Joel, who has been known to strum the hot spot’s piano keys after a few cocktails.
In 2004, Joel allegedly crashed his car into a home in Sag Harbor after spending the night at the American Hotel.
Witnesses at the American Hotel said Timberlake appeared “intoxicated” and was even seen drinking other people’s drinks that had been left out.
Sag Harbor police are known for parking their cars right next to popular bars like the American Hotel and waiting for patrons to return to their cars, then following drivers for a while, quickly stopping them if they drift out of their lanes, speed or run a stop sign or red light.
“Before cell phones and cameras, bartenders in the Village would call 911 to report fires or accidents miles away so patrons could get a ride home,” another local police official said.
If convicted, he faces up to a year in prison, but experts believe Timberlake is likely to receive a lighter punishment given that this is a first offense.
