The California mayor, whose home was searched by the FBI this week, is not the subject of a related investigation, her lawyers argue.
Oakland Mayor Shen Tao has denied any wrongdoing that led to Thursday’s searches of multiple properties, including the homes and workplaces of campaign donors.
“Mayor Thao is ready, willing and able to cooperate fully with federal investigators and has nothing to hide,” said Tony Blass, Thao’s attorney.

“It is unfortunate that she had to endure the negative effects of a search warrant being executed at her home,” Blass continued in the statement. “She would have cooperated with the investigation even without this search.”
No arrests have been made at either facility, and the FBI has not charged Thao with any crimes.
“[Thao] “She will continue to do the job Oakland expects from its Mayor and will provide any information the federal government requests. There is no information that she is or will be the subject of this investigation or any investigation,” Brass concluded.

Next to Thao’s residence, FBI agents searched 4320 View Crest Court, a property linked to Andy Duong, co-owner of California Waste Solutions. FOX 40 reported.
The recycling company had previously been reported to have been under investigation over its election contributions to Tao. Auckland side.
The FBI also reportedly conducted searches at 1211 Embarcadero Way in Oakland, home to the headquarters of California Waste Solutions and the Vietnamese American Business Association (VABA), an organization run by the Duong family that led a U.S. business delegation to Vietnam last year.
