The analysis found that Bowman allegedly copied and pasted other texts “on multiple other occasions” without proper attribution and even made grammatical errors in the process.
In one example, a progressive congressman replaced “Latino/Latina” with “Latinx/Latina,” not realizing that the “x” was intended to make the gender-indicating suffix neutral by replacing both “-o” and “-a.”
In another sentence, the ad misspelled “The intersection of race/ethnicity and compassion” as “The intersection of race/ethnicity and compassion.”
Other authors he is said to have pasted quotes from include Rene Antrop Gonzalez, Anthony de Jesus, Tena Hunt, Kristen Slack and Lawrence Berger.
“This is the kind of dismal pseudo-scholarship that takes up much of education and, unfortunately, an increasingly large part of political life, and it deserves as much scrutiny as its author,” Rosiak and Rufo wrote.
