Former President Donald Trump vowed to “not give a dime” to schools that mandate vaccinations and mask wearing, and would remove men from girls’ sports.
Trump at a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday Said If elected, he said, “from day one,” he would sign an executive order to drastically cut federal funding to schools that promote critical race theory, transgenderism or “other inappropriate racial, sexual or political content.”
“On day one, I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding to schools that push critical race theory, transgender insanity and other inappropriate racial, sexual and political content onto our children,” Trump told the crowd.
“I won’t give a penny to schools that mandate vaccinations or mask wearing,” Trump says Added“And I will be keeping boys out of girls’ sports from day one. Signed.”

Trump has been a vocal opponent of vaccinations and mask mandates. In August 2023, Trump said in a TruthSocial post that Americans “will not comply” with vaccinations, mask mandates, or another round of lockdowns. The former president promised to “cut federal funding to schools, universities, airlines, and public transportation that impose mask mandates or vaccination mandates.”
A Trump campaign official told Breitbart News in April that Biden and his team “want the government to shut down Americans and control every aspect of their lives.” The Trump campaign’s comments were in response to a job ad by the Biden campaign asking applicants to report their current COVID-19 vaccination status.
Biden campaign employees are being required to be “up to date” with COVID-19 vaccinations.
Before the former president’s comments on transgender issues, he vowed to “keep radical left-wing gender ideology away from our children” at a roundtable discussion in Michigan last weekend.
During the roundtable event, President Trump added that he would also remove men from women’s sports.
Trump’s comments, particularly regarding transgender people, came as President Joe Biden and his administration have highlighted efforts to provide protections for transgender people.
In a recent speech, Biden spoke about “transgender children” whose families are “facing the painful decision to move” to states that are not subject to “dangerous, hateful anti-LGBTQI+ laws.”
in post In a March Page X post, Biden wrote that transgender Americans are “made in the image of God.”
“Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, I have a simple message to all transgender Americans: I see you. You are created in the image of God and you are worthy of respect and dignity,” Biden wrote.
The Biden administration also released revised Title IX rules in April, which will take effect on Aug. 1, 2024. Although the rule does not use the word “transgender,” it could easily be interpreted to protect transgender people.
Education Secretary Miguel Cardona explained that this was done intentionally because “the criteria for students to participate on boys’ and girls’ athletic teams are changing in real time.”
Breitbart News previously reported:
Throughout the document, the term “gender identity” is used to describe specific behaviors that the new rules will force all public schools (not just universities, but all publicly funded schools) to comply with, or risk lawsuits and loss of federal funding.
The revised Title IX regulations define sex discrimination as based on gender identity and sexual orientation, and while the regulations prohibit schools from segregating students on the basis of sex, they do not specifically address whether male students should be allowed in girls’ restrooms.
