Alaska Airlines has reached a tentative agreement with its flight attendants union, marking the latest labor victory for airline workers.
Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants Association (CWA) Announced on Friday The union, which represents more than 6,500 Alaska Airlines flight attendants, said it had reached an agreement with the airline but did not provide details of the deal. According to the company’s website.
“Your actions in negotiations over the past two years, including winning support for the right to strike from your legislators, have ensured we have the power to squeeze every last dollar from Alaska Airlines management,” the union said in a release to members.
The union announced in April that Pushing up wage rates Salary increases range from 40 percent to 56 percent depending on years of service. It is unclear how much of a salary increase is included in the new tentative agreement.
The union said Alaska Airlines and the union plan to finalize the agreement’s language over the next few days before submitting it to the Alaska Airlines Master Executive Committee (MEC). The MEC will “vote on presenting the agreement for ratification by the entire membership, a roadshow will be scheduled and details will be released to the membership,” according to the release.
“Thanks to our actions and the influence we have generated, we have been able to achieve this tentative agreement. The agreement [National Mediation Board]”Over the next few days, the parties will continue to work on finalizing the contract language and will submit the full text of the TA to the Master Executive Council (MEC),” the statement said.
