2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed evangelical and religious voters at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Path to the Majority conference in Washington, DC, on Saturday.

During his speech, President Trump reiterated his support for displaying the Ten Commandments in public schools. This comes after Louisiana’s Republican governor, Jeff Landry, signed a universal school choice bill on Wednesday that includes a provision that would make the state the first to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public school classrooms. President Trump then spoke out against Democrats who oppose displaying the Ten Commandments in schools.
“Does anybody want the Ten Commandments hanging in their schools?” Trump asked, as the audience erupted in cheers and applause. “They think it’s a very bad thing. I said, ‘Thou shalt.’ I mean, has anybody read this? It’s unbelievable. I honestly can’t believe it. They don’t want it hanging up. It’s a crazy world.”

Shortly after the Louisiana bill was signed, President Trump voiced his support for the Ten Commandments on social media early Friday.

After speaking in Washington, DC, Trump held a rally in Philadelphia, where the Republican candidate visited a Tony & Nick’s Steaks restaurant before taking to the stage to sign merchandise and take photos with supporters, whom he welcomed as “my people.”
