Texas criminal captured following prison escape

A Texas criminal serving a 20-year sentence for theft, robbery and other crimes escaped last night and was arrested three miles from the prison in Angleton.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice said troopers at the Clemens Unit discovered 33-year-old Kidany Robles missing during a routine search late Sunday night.

A brief investigation revealed that Robles had escaped from a residential facility outside the prison for inmates who require lower levels of supervision.

Local and state law enforcement agencies, working with the Office of the Inspector General, conducted a search for Robles and found him about 10 hours after he was announced missing, three miles from the prison.
