Love was in the air in Italy.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love and his girlfriend Ronica Stone got engaged during a romantic trip to Italy, as revealed by a photo the couple posted jointly to Instagram on Sunday.
“First step towards forever 💍❤️,” Love, 25, wrote alongside a photo of a beautiful cushion-cut diamond ring with a gold band that she gave to Stone.
The former first-round draft pick knelt outside Cersa Castle, a 13th-century castle in central Tuscany.
Love and Stone, a professional volleyball player for San Diego Mojo, then enjoyed a candlelit dinner on the castle’s balcony, taking in the breathtaking views of Tuscany.
“Future love,” Stone wrote in an Instagram Story that included her engagement photo.
“Wow.. I’m crying. I can’t believe it,” she continued in a series of posts.
To pull off the surprise engagement, Love worked with top Italian proposal planner Martina Udikova and boutique travel company Lilac & Chai, according to his social media posts.
It’s unclear exactly how the couple met.
Love and Stone, a University of Oregon volleyball alumna, have been dating since at least September 2020, according to Stone’s Instagram account.
He made their relationship public on social media in early 2021.
The couple’s trip to Italy came after Love attended the Packers’ mandatory minicamp in Green Bay from June 11-13.
The Packers will open the 2024 NFL season on Sept. 6 in Brazil against the Eagles.
