SCOTUS Denies Appeal From Ex-Reality Star Josh Duggar Over Child Sexual Abuse Material Charges

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the appeal of former reality TV star Josh Duggar, who was convicted of downloading child sexual abuse material online.

Dagger is TLC Before his conviction in 2021, he appeared on the reality TV show “19 Kids and Counting” with his large family.

He was convicted of both receiving and possessing child pornography and sentenced to 12 years in prison, according to court records.

Dugger tried to argue that illegal material found on his computer when federal agents executed a search warrant at his business in 2019 was the responsibility of a former employee who had previously been convicted of sex crimes.

However, the court did not allow Dugger to introduce his criminal record as evidence unless he could first prove that employees had access to the computers.

Number 8Number The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld that decision last year.

In response to the ruling, Dugger told the Supreme Court that the ruling violated the Sixth Amendment and deprived him of his right to a full defense.

moreover, TLC “19 Kids and Counting” was taken off the air in 2015 following allegations that Duggar had previously sexually abused his four sisters and a babysitter. Authorities launched an investigation after a tip from a family friend, but concluded that the statute of limitations for any allegations had expired.

Duggar’s parents also acknowledged and privately apologized to him after the allegations resurfaced in 2015. He later publicly apologized for unspecified behavior and resigned as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council.
