Kevin Costner Working hard is not uncommon.
The 69-year-old actor spoke to Fox News Digital on Monday at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film “Horizon: An American Saga,” where he spoke about the time he’s spent creating the project and explained why he’s “proud” of the movement so far.
“This is my town. This is a company town. I respect what Hollywood is and has been. To be able to show the film and be part of the history of all the other people who have shown films at Westwood and the Chinese Theatre. It’s a ritual. It’s something we experience. We get to celebrate. I’m really proud of the film you’re going to see tonight. This film will be floated down the river and people will be able to see it long after I’m alive.”

Costner went on to explain why this role was one of the most challenging he’s ever taken on.
“If you look at the obvious facts of how long it took, [to finish]”I think I directed Dances with Wolves in 106 days, and Horizon, which is probably a similarly long film, in 52 days. [days]I owe it to the people who were with me to make it happen. We never stopped working.”

In addition to starring in the feature film, Costner also directed “Horizon,” based on a screenplay he co-wrote with John Baird. The ensemble cast also includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Luke Wilson, Abbey Lee, Jena Malone and Giovanni Ribisi.
Regarding Costner’s work ethic, cast member Isabelle Fuhrman said he’s a “great leader.”

“I’m so grateful. Kevin is such a visionary,” she said. “I’ve looked up to him for years, and when he asked me to be in this film, I was totally excited. A Western was like a dream come true that I never thought I’d get to do. You don’t see women play characters with such depth and interest very often. There are always shootouts. I felt like he was trying to make a film I’d never seen before, a world I’d never seen before.”
“You’re not just looking at American history,” she continued. “The story is about America. It’s about a lot of people trying to achieve their dreams and the trials and tribulations they face. I felt it was such a challenge to be able to tell that story in an intimate way with each character, rather than just telling it on a larger scale. Kevin inspires me every day to be the best version of myself in every situation. He’s an incredible leader.”

“That’s just the type of guy he is. Kevin Costner leads by example,” Wilson added. “He’s a really hard-working guy, he’s super prepared, but he also embraces the little moments that you don’t think about and tries to capture them. He’s a first-class filmmaker.”
Speaking to Fox News Digital ahead of the premiere, the Oscar-winning actor revealed that his 15-year-old son Hayes won’t be the only Costner kid flexing his acting muscles in the film.

“They all support each other,” Costner confessed about his seven children. “My oldest son was in a scene in Chapter 2 and had a small role.”
“I’m just looking for ways to trap them,” he joked.

Costner has three children, sons Hayes, 15, and Kayden, 17, and daughter Grace, 14, with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner. Finalized the divorce In February, our 18th year of marriage.
He has three adult children, Annie, Lily and Joe, with ex-wife Cindy Silva, and 26-year-old son Liam with ex-partner Bridget Rooney.
Costner’s eldest son will make his debut in Horizon Part 2, but his son Hayes was just 13 when he signed on to star in the first film of the post-Civil War drama that Costner began conceiving more than 30 years ago.

“I’m so glad that he went through with it, that he played it well, that he listened, that he worried, that he cared… I’m so glad that he’s going to have that for the rest of his life,” Costner said. “I never forced my kids to do this, and this may be his only attempt at it, but he’s unforgettable, and for me, I’ll never forget that he was there.”

After months of speculation, Costner confirmed on social media last week that he would not be returning for “Yellowstone” Season 5, Part B.
“Hello everyone, after spending the last year and a half working on Horizon, doing all that was necessary, and thinking about the beloved series Yellowstone that I love and that I know you all love, I want to let you know that I have realized we will not be able to continue with Season 5 or in the future,” he said on Instagram.
“It was a film that truly changed me. I loved it and I think you all loved it too. I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be coming back. The relationships we’ve built are great. See you at the cinema.”

Costner, through his deal with Fox Nation, is set to announce a new project for the platform in 2025 and previously hosted “Yellowstone: One-Fifty,” a series exploring the origins of the national park.
