The Democratic National Committee has paid millions of dollars to two law firms involved in several loafer lawsuits against former President Donald Trump, according to an exclusive report from the Democratic National Committee. Daily Caller he says.
The outlet said the DNC paid $2 million to Kaplan, Hecker & Fink LLP and “several million more” to Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale & Dorr LLP over the past three years. The DNC claims the payments were for “legal services.” Federal Election Commission Documents to be submitted.
“There is now clear and shocking evidence that the Biden Democratic National Committee is paying Democratic law firms to wage unprecedented legal war and election interference against President Trump.”
Prior to 2021, the DNC had no affiliation with Kaplan, Hecker & Fink, a law firm that was founded in 2017 with a mission to create a law firm “rooted in the principles of fairness, integrity and justice.” And about a year ago, founding partner Roberta A. Kaplan represented E. Jean Carroll in her civil lawsuit, who alleged that the former president sexually assaulted her in a department store fitting room in the mid-1990s.
As previously reported by The Blaze News in May of last year, a Manhattan jury took just three hours to determine that Trump had sexually abused and defamed Carroll, but did not determine that he had raped her. Trump was ordered to pay Carroll nearly $90 million in damages in total for defamation. Kaplan She had argued that “extraordinarily high punitive damages” were needed to stop Trump from calling her client a liar and a “crank.”
Another partner at Kaplan, Hecker & Fink, Joshua Matz, represented President Trump before the House Judiciary Committee during his first impeachment trial, according to the Daily Caller. Matz also Number 2 President Trump impeached.
But after the Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted in January to impeach Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Matz abruptly changed his tune, lamenting that Congress’s impeachment power was being used as a weapon to influence political outcomes outside of elections: “As a practical matter, there are good reasons why the impeachment power has never been used in any worthwhile way with respect to the Cabinet.” Pine tree That’s what I said at the time.
“They’re having a hard time getting the votes to impeach President Biden. The one thing they can all agree on is impeaching Mayorkas, because they believe immigration is a popular and important issue in the presidential election.”
In addition to Kaplan, Hecker & Fink, the Democratic National Committee has also paid millions of dollars for “legal services” over the past three years to Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale & Doll LLP, according to Federal Election Commission filings, paying more than $2 million between 2021 and 2022 alone. Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale & Doll LLP has filed multiple amicus briefs in federal lawsuits against Trump relating to the 2020 election and Jan. 6.
The Daily Caller also noted that several former members of the law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Doll have gone on to become key figures in the Biden administration, including Secretary Mayorkas and U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar. Former special counsel Robert Mueller was also once part of the firm, which has had affiliations with the Democratic National Committee “for a long time,” the Daily Caller reported. ABC News.
“There is now clear and shocking evidence that the Biden Democratic National Committee is paying Democratic law firms to wage unprecedented legal war and election interference against President Trump,” said Mike Davis, a former legal adviser to Trump and founder and president of the Article 3 Project.
The DNC did not respond to The Daily Caller’s request for comment about the payments to the two law firms. When asked who paid for Joe Biden’s legal fees during Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation, DNC spokesman Alex Floyd said, “The DNC has not spent one penny of our grassroots donors’ money on legal fees.”
