Drea de Matteo compares her death in ‘Sopranos’ to Hollywood

Actress Drea De Matteo said that there are many silent supporters of Donald Trump in Hollywood, but at the same time expressed disappointment in the political activism of Italians such as Robert De Niro.

In an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, the 52-year-old was asked about the presence of Trump supporters in New York state, a liberal stronghold.

“Is there someone in Hollywood who’s quietly voting for Trump?” Watters asked.

“I think there’s a lot. I think there’s a lot. It was a tough intro to watch. Sorry,” De Matteo said, reacting to footage of a recent fundraiser for Joe Biden.

De Matteo then went on to slam fellow Italians including actor Robert De Niro and former health official Dr Anthony Fauci.

“Italians, we are talking about Dr. Fauci, we are talking about De Niro. I feel embarrassed by my countrymen right now. They don’t understand what we are doing here,” she added.

“Very few people are willing to speak up.”

“There are a lot of quiet Trump supporters out there. [Robert F. Kennedy Jr.] “Advocates,” she continued. Mediaite“At this point I’m curious how much these actors were paid to endorse Biden. De Niro went all the way to court for it, so I wonder if he was paid for the location.”

De Matteo was referring to De Niro’s recent appearance outside the New York City courthouse where President Trump’s trial is being held, where he spoke badly of the former president and confronted Trump supporters.

Host Watters then asked the actress if she had any information about how celebrities use workarounds to endorse political candidates, such as landing movie roles or securing book deals.

“I don’t really operate in that industry. I never have,” she insisted. She added that cast members of “The Sopranos” were considered pariahs in the TV industry.

“We were getting rave reviews from our critics, but we were still outcasts. So I’m still an outcast, here I am, and they’re going to take me out into the woods and shoot me for not supporting Biden,” she added.

The actress was likely referring to her departure from the hit TV series, in which her character was shot and killed in the woods after gang members discovered she was working for the FBI.

“I know people are fed up. Very few are willing to speak up,” she said in a previous interview. variety“They’re probably going to vote Republican. These are people who normally would never vote, but people are scared. This doesn’t seem like democracy anymore.”

De Matteo has been in the news recently after opening an account on OnlyFans, a website commonly viewed as a subscription service for pornography and other explicit content, as her home faces foreclosure.

“Why did I join OnlyFans? I think I only had a few hundred dollars in my bank account when I launched. I’m not kidding.” Complex “My house was going to be foreclosed on,” the actress said, according to the report. “Did I do it out of desperation? Of course I did.”

The Italian also said he was considered a “barbarian” by the industry because he did not believe in mandatory COVID vaccinations, forcing him to “change jobs and find something new.”
