Randall Cobb, family escape after Tesla charger causes house fire

NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family survived a house fire that was likely started by a Tesla charger in the garage.

Cobb’s wife, Ida, revealed details of the horrific fire in an Instagram story.

“We are lucky to be alive,” she wrote.

“Late last night our Tesla charger in the garage caught fire and spread quickly. We left the house with just the clothes on our backs and no shoes. More on this later but I’m posting this in case I’m late to an appointment/call/email/meeting. Thank you God.”

Aida attached a photo of her family’s garage, which looked as if a bomb had gone off.

The Cobbs have three young sons, Cade, Caspian and Chance.

Randall Cobb played for the Jets last year, joining the team alongside quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with whom he played for 10 years with the Packers.

Cobb spent his first eight NFL seasons with Green Bay, then played one season each with Dallas and Houston before returning to the Packers for two more years.

Cobb appeared in 11 games for the Jets last season, recording five catches and one touchdown, and likely would have played a more active role had Rodgers not been sidelined for the fourth game after rupturing his Achilles in the season opener against the Bills.

Last offseason, he thought his career might be over before Rodgers came calling on behalf of the Jets.

“I had no idea what was going on. [Rodgers] “I was telling them, and he called me and said, ‘Are you interested?'” Cobb recently said on Barstool’s Bussin’ With the Boys podcast. “At the same time, I was just like, come on over here. [another guy].”
