Eerie police sketch shows creep who tried to rape Central Park sunbather

Police have identified the face of the man who attacked and attempted to rape a woman sunbathing in Central Park in broad daylight.

A sketch of the suspect obtained by The Post shows the perpetrator with a dark beard and mustache that runs along his jawline and curly hair.

The stranger, who police say is in his 30s, has noticeable dark circles under his eyes.

Police previously described the gunman as a 6-foot-tall, black man in his 30s with a medium build. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a baseball cap, a light-colored shirt and shorts, police said.

Police have not released the identity of the pervert, who allegedly attacked the 21-year-old female victim while she was sunbathing at West 104th Street and Western Drive in the iconic green space around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

NYPD Sergeant John Chell said the man first exposed himself to her, then attacked her as she tried to run away.

The victim, who was alone at the time of the attack, bravely resisted her would-be rapist before he fled on foot, and remains at large.

“All of our strategic response groups [are] “We’re converging on this park right now,” Chell said. “Right now we’re searching every inch of this park for witnesses, evidence… Everybody has something and we’re out there looking for witnesses.”

Anyone with information about this afternoon’s horrific attack is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
