The debate between former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden is going well, but Biden appears to have had a particularly bad night, judging by social media ratings.
The debate was moderated by well-known CNN personalities Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, but some of their current and former colleagues have also criticized Biden’s performance.
“I have no idea what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said either.”
“The voices, the open-mouthed expressions, the visual contrast between President Biden and former President Trump is making the Democrats I’m speaking to almost lose their minds watching this debate,” the CNN anchor said. Casey Hunt.
Former CNN host responds to a post by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang suggesting he could replace Biden on this year’s list of candidates. Brian Stelter “How prominent will this viewpoint be in the post-debate television coverage?” I wondered.
Alyssa Farrah GriffinThe CNN contributor and current co-host of “The View” echoed similar sentiments. “What I’ve heard from countless viewers across the political spectrum is the consensus is that Biden needs to be replaced,” she said. “I think the situation is worse than most people imagined.”
Griffin, Stelter and others may have been thinking about the moment when Biden seemed deeply shaken and Trump uttered the night’s most memorable quip: “I have no idea what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said himself.”
Other media personalities such as Chris Cillizza Trump critics“Biden looks old. He’s stumbling. He’s not understanding his train of thought. His voice sounds weak. It’s terrible, it’s terrible,” he said without mincing words. Syriza I wrote this about 15 minutes into the discussion.
About an hour later, Syriza He added, “Biden would have been better off refusing to debate Trump, which would have drawn criticism, yes, but it would have been much better than this.”
Biden appeared confused throughout the debate and frequently stumbled over his words, even going so far as to claim at one point that there are “1,000 trillionaires” in the United States.
Long-time journalist Charlie SykesNow an MSNBC contributor, he summed up the thoughts about Biden’s performance likely shared by many in the newsroom: “It’s awful. There’s no room to polish this shit.”
Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld believes Biden’s weak and incoherent speech has a major impact on his overall fitness to be president: “It doesn’t matter what the answer is anymore. The debate showed what we already knew: Biden is unfit to be president. It’s unfortunate that it had to get to this point. Forcing this older man to do this, and forcing us to see it. It’s awful.” Gutfeld I have written.
