CNN host Chris Wallace said Thursday during CNN’s post-election debate that President Joe Biden has not been able to recover from his performance in the debate.
Moderator Erin Burnett said, “Chris, he had six days of preparation at Camp David, he knows the rules, he practices on the mic, he knows all the questions that are going to be asked, and yet he just couldn’t fill the time. So let’s see what the White House has to say. Sources close to the White House say he had a cold and was feeling unwell, which was expected, and it came out early in the debate. But with all that experience and preparation, why did it end up like this?”
“Honestly, I think the question answers itself. There’s nothing more he could have done,” Wallace said.
He continued, “He was incompetent tonight. He effectively took control on the biggest stage he had. After all that preparation, he couldn’t perform any better. There’s no way he’ll recover from that.”
Wallace added, “You can’t stand on a stage with tens of millions of Americans watching and not get anything out of it, and that’s what he did tonight.”
