CNN host John King said Thursday during CNN’s post-election debate that Democratic leaders are panicking following President Joe Biden’s debate performance.
“Anderson, this was a game-changing debate in the sense that there is deep, broad, intense panic right now within the Democratic Party. It began within the first few minutes of the debate and is still ongoing. It’s involving party strategy, elected officials, fundraisers and so on. They’re talking about the president’s performance. They think it’s disastrous. They think it’s damaging to other candidates in the party and they’re talking about what to do about it,” King said.
He added, “There were conversations about whether they should go to the White House and ask the president to step down, or whether leading Democrats should make that call public. But they feel the debate was so bad that they’re saying the president has recovered and stood his ground in subsequent debates. But at the end, even his closing remarks were a little choppy.”
