Kelly Stafford shades ‘insecure men’ after QB dating story exploded

Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, seem to be just fine after the “media storm” over his wife’s recent comments that she “pissed him off” by dating Stafford’s former Georgia teammate early in their relationship.

Stafford took to her Instagram Story on Thursday to criticize “insecure men” and gushed about her joy in her marriage to the Rams quarterback.

“It made me realise how many insecure men there are out there. I’m so lucky to be married to a man who is the complete opposite.”

The concert took place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Thursday.

This came two weeks after she faced public backlash when she recalled on TV that she had dated Stafford’s backup quarterback at Georgia. “Off the Vine” podcast With Kaitlyn Bristowe.

The two met while attending the University of Georgia, where she was a cheerleader and Stafford was a star quarterback.

The two married in 2015 and have four daughters.

“It wasn’t a very cute relationship at first,” Stafford told Bristowe about her relationship with Stafford. “I hated him and I loved him. I dated his backup to piss him off, and it worked, because he was a bad boy too.”

“Matthew is a very sweet guy, a Southern gentleman and all that stuff. But the reserve guy was the complete opposite and that pissed him off.”

The now-viral video was not well-received.

With some fans Sports media personnelReporters, including ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, believed the story was damaging to her husband and blasted Stafford for going public with it.

Stafford later addressed the backlash and apologized to the family of former Georgia quarterback Joe Cox, who played with Stafford for three years at Athens.

Many thought Cox, who served as Stafford’s backup for three years, was the quarterback in question.

“To this beautiful family…” she wrote in an Instagram Story post, along with a photo of Cox and her family. “I am sorry that the media circus that occurred last week has impacted your lives. You have absolutely nothing to do with what I have said. In fact, what I respected and hoped for Matthew and I was your relationship in college. You were the couple everyone thought Matthew and I were…You were the quarterback and cheerleader at University of Georgia who never left each other after meeting. I love you all.”
