‘Jeopardy’ contestant who earned second lowest score in game show history speaks out: ‘A day to forget’

“Jeopardy” contestant Erin Bueckers set a game show record by earning the second-lowest score in the competition’s history.

As of the end of Monday’s broadcast, the stay-at-home mom had a negative $7,200 total, the second-lowest score after former contestant Patrick Pierce’s negative $7,400 total in July 2021.

Despite the poor score, Booker said he had a “great experience” but it was definitely “a day I’d like to forget.”

“For Erin, it was a day she really wanted to forget! Unfortunately, they recorded the few things that I was able to forget,” Booker said of the show. Reddit page“As for the buzzer, I was my own worst enemy, hitting it so often during tips, it was like my thumb was just moving on its own.”

“It’s uniquely frustrating to know the answers but not have the wherewithal to make the calls and answer them at the right time. That’s my shortcoming and entirely my fault,” she added.

“But it was still an amazing experience,” she continued, “As a substitute for the previous week, I got to really bond with all of the contestants who aired last week. They were really down-to-earth people, and it especially gave me an appreciation for the residents of the northern capital, where two contestants (Kelsey and Jonquil) are from. So it was no surprise to me that my fellow contestant, Graham, is a shining example of exceptional wit and personality, hailing from Ottawa.”

“Thanks to my experiences with these three amazing people, Ottawa is now officially on my travel destination list,” Booker concluded.

Booker competed against graduate student and “Survivor” alumnus Drew Basil and lighting designer Graham Hicks.

Due to his low score, Booker did not qualify for Final Jeopardy, which was ultimately won by Basil.

Fans of the show were quick to share their thoughts on social media.

“Someone please tell Erin that the object of the game is to get the answer right,” one fan said. I wrote to X (Formerly Twitter).

“Poor Erin. She’s deep in the hole,” said another. I have written.

Host Kat Jennings, who set the longest winning streak in “Jeopardy!” history in 2004, reassured Booker throughout the show and handled the situation with grace.

“I love that Ken reassured Erin that she at least took a risk and tried to get out of the hole. Such a sweet guy,” a fan of the show wrote on social media.

Jennings debuted on “Jeopardy!” in June 2004 and appeared in 74 episodes. Setting a Record The longest winning streak in the show’s history. This record has yet to be broken by any other contestant.
