She’s not being subtle.
First Lady Jill Biden made a bold (some might say desperate) fashion statement at President Biden’s first post-debate rally in North Carolina on Friday, wearing a dress that literally begged the audience to “vote.”
Biden’s wife, 73, and her 81-year-old husband were in Raleigh together, writing a message all over the knee-length black dress before smiling and receiving applause.
“What you saw on the debate stage last night was Joe Biden, a president of integrity and character,” Jill told the audience.
“He told the truth. And Donald Trump told lie after lie.”
The First Lady’s decision to wear the bizarre dress came just hours after her husband’s disastrous confrontation with former President Donald Trump, in which the president spoke in a weak voice and repeatedly lost his train of thought while answering questions.
The president’s shockingly poor performance has led to renewed calls for the Democratic candidate to consider stepping down just four months before the election.
But Biden refused to back down on Friday, saying at a post-debate rally that he intended to remain in the race and win a second term.
“I come to North Carolina for one reason only: we’re going to win this state in November,” Biden said, as his wife looked on.
“Obviously, I know I’m not young anymore,” the president continued.
“I wouldn’t be running again if I didn’t truly believe I could do the job. The stakes are too high.”
