First Lady Jill Biden reportedly assured donors that her husband was “ready to go” ahead of the disastrous presidential debate.
Time magazine has published a scathing piece exposing the “behind the scenes” of President Biden’s shocking debate performance, which began with footage of his wife meeting with “financial heavyweights” before the president took the stage.
“As President Joe Biden was reviewing final notes with aides and preparing to debate Donald Trump on June 27 in Atlanta, his wife snuck into a meeting of major Democratic donors nearby,” Time magazine reported. Report on Friday“The financial heavyweights from the Biden Victory Fund and the Democratic National Committee all gathered at the Ritz-Carlton for two days of political briefings, inspirational pep talks and meet-and-greets with dignitaries. ‘Joe’s ready to go,’ Dr. Biden told the group. ‘He’s ready to go.'”
“Fact check: False,” the magazine added.

At the post-debate party, Biden’s wife was full of praise, appearing to rejoice in the very fact that the president had answered the moderator’s questions.
“Joe, you did such a great job! You answered all the questions and you had all the facts!” the First Lady praised a smiling Joe Biden onstage.
Time magazine gave a scathing assessment after the debate, asking Democrats, “Was there any way to remove him from the ballot? And even if not, was there any chance a deeply flawed candidate could have managed to get across the finish line?”
“In any case, that’s not exactly what Biden and his team had planned, holed up at Camp David, the presidential retreat in the Maryland mountains, rehearsing for six full days in an airplane hangar and a movie theater,” Time said. “For all the talk of the most successful first term in history and a historic midterm election, Biden’s team spent late Thursday night and all day Friday trying to calm Democrats down.”
The article was accompanied by a cover image of Biden wandering off the page, with the caption “Panic.”

Since Thursday’s fiery presidential debate, there has been uproar in the liberal media and growing calls for Biden to step down.
“Biden has been a fine president. Under his leadership, the country has thrived, begun to address many of Trump’s long-term challenges and the wounds left by Trump are beginning to heal. But the greatest public act Biden can now do is announce that he will not run for reelection,” The New York Times editorial board wrote on Friday.

Several New York Times columnists have expressed similar views, including longtime Biden ally Thomas Friedman, who wrote that watching the debate “moved me to tears” and that he realized Biden should step aside.
“I cannot recall a more heartbreaking moment in American presidential politics in my lifetime, precisely because that moment made it clear: Joe Biden, a good man and a good president, should not seek reelection,” Friedman wrote.

CNN commentator Van Jones, who cried tears of joy when Biden won the 2020 presidential election, was on the verge of tears when he described how “personally painful” the debate performance was.
“I respect that he’s a good man. He loves his country. He’s doing the best he can. But tonight he had to rise to the challenge of restoring the trust of his country and his base, and he didn’t do it,” Jones said. “And I think there are a lot of people out there who would like to see him consider choosing a different path now.”
“The convention is still a long way off and the party has time to think about other ways to move forward if he allows it, but that’s not what we wanted from Joe Biden,” he added. “And it’s personally painful for a lot of people. This isn’t just panic. It’s pain over what we saw tonight.”
