Actor and comedian Adam Carolla told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on Saturday that Trump would “beat” California Gov. Gavin Newsom if they went head-to-head.

“Newsom is a sociopath. He ruined California and now he wants to franchise it,” he quipped.

“That’s like saying, ‘I built the world’s worst taco stand in California, and now I’m taking it nationwide, but no one’s buying what I’m selling, unless it’s Michelle Obama or someone like that.'”

Carolla stepped up his criticism of Newsom just days after it was announced that “The Sage Steele Show” would see Newsom join the ranks of stars such as Dean Cain, Sylvester Stallone and Mark Wahlberg who have already relocated.

“He’s kind of the poster child for politics and everything that’s wrong with it, and he has this weird aesthetic, this ‘I’d rather have a beer with that guy than do any good in the policy department,'” he said.

“He’s a huge failure on the policy side. He’s an empty person. He’s obsessed with dime money, but he’s basically a sociopath. I interviewed him on my podcast.”

Carolla said Newsom essentially refused to answer any questions during his podcast appearance when pressed to do so.

“He lied, he lied and he had no solutions,” Kilmeade said. “He brought up the problem. [would] He was trying to find that intersection, and when I kept pressing him on what the solution or answer was, he had no answer.”

During an appearance on Steele’s show, he cited Los Angeles’ decline as the reason for his decision to leave, and while he hasn’t yet decided where he’ll go, he named states like Texas, Tennessee, Florida and the Carolinas as possible options.

New Poll According to recent data released by the Public Policy Institute of California, Newsom, the leading candidate to succeed President Biden if he leaves office by November, has an approval rating of 44% among California voters.

Despite the rumors, the California governor doubled down on his support for President Biden after last week’s presidential debate, telling reporters, “I will never turn my back on President Biden, and I don’t think there is any Democrat in my party that would do that, especially after tonight.”
