Noa Al-Ghamani, one of the Israeli hostages who returned safely, said her “biggest concern” was not survival but her parents, speaking publicly for the first time on Saturday about the horrific events that took place on October 7, Israeli media reported. New York Post.
Al-Ghamani, 26, was abducted by Hamas terrorists during a surprise attack on the Jewish state on October 7. She had been attending the Nova music festival and was held hostage in the Gaza Strip for 246 days before being eventually rescued by Israeli forces.
“I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that there are 120 more hostages being held by Hamas, including my partner Abinatan Oar, who was separated from me the moment we were kidnapped.”
in Published Videos “As the only child of my parents and a child of a terminally ill mother, my greatest concern during my captivity was for my parents,” Al-Ghamani said in a report by the Forum of Hostages and Missing Families.
“It is a great honour to be here after 246 days in Hamas captivity. It is also a great honour to be beside my mother after eight months of uncertainty,” she added.
The two-minute video clip was screened in Tel Aviv on Saturday as part of a call for the return of the remaining hostages being held by Hamas. Al-Ghamani’s mother, Liora, who had stage four brain cancer, said she wanted to see her child one last time before she died. I wrote a letter President Joe Biden has been informed of the situation.
Al-Ghamani said that while he returned home safely, his partner, Abinatan Oar, remains held captive in Gaza.
“I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that there are an additional 120 hostages being held by Hamas, including my partner, Abinatan Oar, who was separated from me the moment he was kidnapped.”
“Although I am now at home, I cannot forget about the hostages still being held by Hamas. We must do everything we can to bring them home,” she added.
The October 7 attack specifically targeted women, many of whom were victims of violent sexual assaults.
“Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot took notice of the situation in December 2023, posting on Instagram: “We say we stand against rape and violence against women. We will not allow women to be victimized and silenced. We say we believe women. Let’s stand with women and speak up for women.”
“On October 7th, the world witnessed Hamas execute its violent plan in real time. Within hours of the October 7th attack, the first horrifying video was released showing Shani Luke being taken naked and desecrated by his proud attackers,” Gadot wrote on the social media platform, referring to Shani Luke, a German-Israeli tattoo artist who was kidnapped by Hamas.
Gadot continued, “Yet two months later, women are still being held hostage by rapists, and the world has failed to recognize this as the urgent emergency that demands a decisive response.”
“Now is the time to act as women and as allies of women. I ask all those who have worked for women’s rights around the world, from the UN to human rights organizations, to join me in calling for Hamas to immediately release all female hostages – not after the next round of international mediation, not after another day. Women cannot endure this horror one more time.”
