Paul is regarded as one of the best point guards in the NBA since he entered the league in 2005. He is the all-time leader in assists among active players with 11,894. Paul and LeBron James are the only players with at least 11,000 career assists.
He may also be the best modern player never to win an NBA championship. While with the Suns, he appeared in the 2021 NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks and came close to winning the championship. The Bucks won the series in six games.
