A group of thrill-seekers got more than what they paid for at Disney’s California Adventure Park on Sunday.
As the state was hit by extreme heat, 20 people at an amusement park were trapped on a roller coaster for more than an hour after it stopped dead in its tracks around 1:30 p.m.
Disneyland employees eventually got Incredicoaster passengers back to the ground in safety harnesses, according to the independent news outlet. O.C. Hawk.
The trapped passengers were given umbrellas to escape the scorching sun before being rescued from the 120ft-high coaster.
Temperatures in Anaheim rose into the upper 80s Fahrenheit on Sunday.
It is unclear why the vehicle broke down, but it marked the second day in a row that it has stopped working with passengers still on board.
Disneyland guests staying at a nearby hotel overlooking the park He told KNBC TV He said he saw the “Incredibles”-themed ride stall from the balcony of his hotel room on Saturday.
“I thought maybe the ride was closed,” Vince Crandon told the outlet, “I was worried about the heat and, obviously, the passengers… The ride wasn’t running and it was at the top.”

The Incredicoaster, which has a top speed of 55 mph, remained closed for the rest of Sunday.
A Disney representative did not immediately respond to The Washington Post’s inquiries.
