LAS VEGAS — Kelsey Plum scored 34 points and the Las Vegas Aces beat the Indiana Fever 88-69 on Tuesday night in front of the fifth-largest crowd in WNBA history.
and A rally of 20,366 was announced.The game, which drew the largest attendance for a WNBA regular-season game since 1999, saw the two-time defending champion Aces ride their fifth straight win.
A’ja Wilson had 28 points and nine rebounds, Jackie Young had 15 points and 10 assists, and Kiah Stokes added 12 rebounds.
Indiana all-stars Kelsey Mitchell, Aaliyah Boston and Kaitlyn Clark combined for 54 points and 78.2 percent of the team’s points.
The three were selected to the WNBA All-Star team that will play against the U.S. Olympic team in Phoenix on July 20.
Plumb, Wilson, Young and Chelsea Gray are all members of the U.S. team.
Mitchell led the Fever with 23 points, Clark had 13 points and 11 assists, and Boston contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Indiana’s Nalyssa Smith had 14 rebounds.
The Fever tried their best to repeat the comeback they had on Sunday when they rallied from 15 points down to beat Phoenix. After trailing by 11 points early in the third quarter, the Fever rallied behind strong play from Clark.
After a dismal first half, Clark came on in the third quarter and made 3 of 5 field goals to help lead the team to a 12-6 lead at the start of the quarter.
The Fever were trailing by four points going into the final quarter.
But the Aces jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the fourth quarter and never looked back.
By the time Mitchell scored Indiana’s first points of the fourth quarter, it was already too late.
