Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese to Team Up at WNBA All-Star Game

Any remaining animosity between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will have to be put aside, at least temporarily. Why? Because they’ll be on the same team.

The hottest rivalries in sports right now will be temporarily teaming up for the WNBA All-Star Game.

Clarke, the league’s No. 1 overall pick, and Reese, the league’s No. 7 overall pick, have led a ratings revolution in the WNBA, drawing record-breaking ratings in their three head-to-head games.

Clarke finished first in All-Star voting with 700,735 votes, while Reese finished fifth with 381,518 votes.

In an exciting twist, the WNBA All-Stars will face off against Team USA All-Stars. Last month, fans and media were shocked to learn that Clark would not be included on the U.S. roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

On Sunday night, Clarke and the Fever defeated the Phoenix Mercury, a team that features three members of the U.S. national team, and Clarke, the league’s brightest star, will have another chance to prove the Olympic women’s basketball selection committee wrong for not selecting her.

Both Reese and Clark are having impressive seasons. Clark entered Tuesday night’s game averaging 16.2 points, 6.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game, while Reese is averaging 13.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

Reese and Clark had a notorious rivalry in college that grew even more intense in the pros, when Reese was flagrant No. 1 for hitting Caitlin Clark in the back of the head in their second matchup.

And who could forget Angel Reese applauding after Chennedi Carter sent Clark tumbling to the ground with a powerful blindside hit?

Hopefully, everything will be resolved by July 20, when the WNBA All-Stars take on the Team USA All-Stars.
