Three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes is one of the most recognizable players in the NFL.
Mahomes is widely regarded as the best quarterback in the league and, as a prominent athlete, his family has been in the spotlight.
Wife Brittany Mahomes, She has made some headlines in recent years. She was also featured prominently in the Netflix documentary series “Quarterback.”
Former MLB player Pat Mahomes Sr. also made headlines after his son led the Kansas City Chiefs to multiple Super Bowl appearances. Mahomes’ mother, Randi, recently spoke about the downsides of her son’s fame.

While Mahomes has received an outpouring of support and praise from fans, Randy said he gets teary-eyed every time he thinks about the “hatred” directed toward the Mahomes family.

“I’d love to say we’re blessed and Patrick is living the dream, but for me, it’s been the hardest seven years of my adult life,” Lundy said during an appearance on “The Mom Game Podcast.”
“It was really hard to juggle being proud of my son with the hate that I received and that my children received. I can’t even put into words how hard it was. I cried a lot. It was a struggle.”

“A few years ago after we won the Super Bowl, I was reflecting and I was looking at social media while I was trying to sleep and I looked and someone was directing so much hate at me and my kids, all three of them. I looked at their social media and I thought, this is an amazing all-American family, why would this mom or dad reach out and say something like this,” Randy said.
As Mahomes’ popularity grew, normal family outings quickly became a thing of the past.
“We just want to be normal and go out to dinner, but we don’t do that. At my job, 90 percent of the calls are not work-related, so it’s really hard. But we still want to go to work and live a normal life,” Randy said.
“When I look at my friends on social media, they’re [life]Their kids are the same age as Patrick and Jackson, and they have a normal situation and we don’t. It’s very difficult.”
Randi, who is also mother to Patrick’s younger brother Jackson and half-sister Mia, added that it is painful to read negative comments about the children.

“I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, and I say that because as a mother, I don’t want to read or see things about my child, especially when I know it’s not true.”
Pat Mahomes Sr. and Randy divorced in 2006. The Chiefs star quarterback has two half-siblings on his father’s side, a sister, Zoe Mahomes, and a brother, Graham Walker.

Randy suggested Patrick may decide to step away from the NFL if his commitment to the sport puts his family at risk.
“Hearing him say, ‘If the game is taking away from my kids’ time, I might not play as long as Tom Brady,’ makes me so proud of him,” she said. Mahomes was drafted in 2017 and spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Chiefs.
