Abigail Disney, an heir to the Disney family, announced Thursday that she would stop donating to Democrats if Biden does not step down.
talk CNBCThe granddaughter of Roy O. Disney said she plans to “stop donating to the party altogether until we see an alternative candidate to Biden come out on top.”
“This is reality, and this is no disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served our country well, but the stakes are too high,” she said. “If Biden doesn’t step down, the Democrats will lose. I’m absolutely certain of that. The consequences of a defeat would be truly devastating.”
Disney’s statement comes after Netflix co-founder and major Democratic donor Reed Hastings said of The New York Times Biden should resign.
“Biden needs to step aside so strong Democratic leadership can defeat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous,” Hastings said.
Similarly, Hollywood superagent Ari Emanuel said Biden may be too old to run for reelection.
“My father died at 92, and I took his car away when he was 81. For me, this was a very simple test,” Emanuel said. “If you were driving from downtown Beverly Hills to Malibu, would you want Biden driving you at night? Would you want Trump driving you at night? If the answer is neither, then you can’t have them running a $27 trillion enterprise called the United States of America.”
