Democratic donors are turning their backs on Joe Biden.
Abigail Disney, heir to the Disney fortune, said: “I will stop donating to the party altogether unless they replace Biden as the top candidate. This is reality, and it’s no disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served our country well, but the stakes are too high.”
She also said Democrats would lose if Biden did not step down.
Abigail Disney, heiress to the Disney fortune, plans to stop donating to the Democratic Party until President Biden drops out of the presidential race, CNBC reported.
The Disney heiress told CNBC on Thursday that she plans to withhold donations to the political party she funded for years until Biden dropped out.
“I will stop donating to the party unless a replacement for Biden emerges. This is reality and no disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served our country well, but the stakes are too high,” Abigail Disney said in a lengthy statement to CNBC. “If Biden does not step down, the Democrats will lose. I am absolutely certain of that. The consequences of a defeat would be truly devastating.”
This comes as Biden has vowed to continue his campaign and even told a crowd of military personnel and their families at a Fourth of July Independence Day barbecue that he’s “not going anywhere.”
