Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., said Friday that losing the media outlet is the “end” of President Biden’s campaign.
“Democrats, any Democrat, have a huge problem with losing the media. Biden lost the media overnight after the debate,” Johnson said. Said “It’s pretty difficult because Democrats can lie and implement policies that are ruinous to this country, but as long as the media is on their side and covering for them, they can survive,” he told host Will Cain on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
“The minute they lose the media, they’re really finished,” Johnson continued.
Biden has been causing anxiety among Democrats for more than a week after his shaky performance in last Thursday’s debate, in which he appeared hoarse and stuttered during the CNN debate, raising questions among Democrats about whether he should remain the party’s nominee.
“He’s got the nomination and he’s got the votes,” Johnson said of Biden during an appearance on Fox News. “If he wants to stay, it’s going to be hard to replace him again.”
When the topic of whether he would be persuaded to drop out of the presidential race came up, Biden said in an interview with ABC on Friday, “If the Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, drop out of the race,’ I would drop out of the race. The Almighty is not going to come down.”
Biden and his allies are adamant that he has no plans to drop out, despite four House Democrats now calling for him to drop out of the race. In a fundraising email sent earlier this week, Biden said “nobody is trying to ‘out’ him.”
“I am the Democratic candidate,” the fundraising email said. “No one is trying to get rid of me. I have no plans to go away. I am going to fight this race to the end. And we are going to win this election. If that’s all you want to hear, please support me by donating a few dollars.” [Vice President Harris] And I’m going to defeat Donald Trump in November.”
