Bernard responded to the news on social media, but didn’t seem particularly upset.

“I’m sorry to the UCI for tarnishing the image of the sport,” Bernard said on X. “But I’m willing to pay 200 Swiss francs a day to relive this moment.”

according to Reuters In a post-race interview, Bernard said his wife planned out his entire day.

“It was amazing. My wife organised this race with some friends a few weeks ago and she’s done a fantastic job,” he said. “In a time trial you have time to have fun. It’s these moments that keep me going and keeping me riding.”
