Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) suggested President Joe Biden and his campaign are “done” after losing support from the mainstream media after their debate performance.
During the period interview Johnson explained on Fox News on Friday that “any” Democrat faces “problems” if they “lose” the support of the mainstream media, adding that the media is covering up for Democrats.
“The Democrats are in serious trouble. Democrats are in serious trouble when they lose the media, but Biden lost the media overnight after the debate,” Johnson said. “It’s very difficult because Democrats can lie and enact policies that are ruinous to this country, but they can survive as long as the media covers for them on their side. The minute they lose the media, they’re really done.”
After Biden’s lackluster performance in the debate against former President Donald Trump, Democrats, donors, voters and members of the media began to panic and question whether Biden could serve another term as president.
While Democrats such as former President Barack Obama, Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senator John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) continue to support Biden and call his performance a “bad debate,” other Democrats such as Representatives Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas), Raul Grijalva (D-Arizona) and Angie Craig (D-Minn.) have called on Biden to “step back” and withdraw from the race.
“President Biden is the president,” Johnson added. “He has the nomination and he has the votes. If he wants to stay in office, it’s going to be hard to replace him again.”
At a rally in Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday, Biden remained firm in his stance to remain in the presidential race, telling the crowd that he was “going to run” and that “I’m going to win.”
