A masked gunman walked into a McDonald’s in the Bronx and fired at least six shots at his targets, 12- and 13-year-old boys, before fleeing Saturday night, according to police and law enforcement sources.
Police said the 12-year-old boy was shot in the back and left leg and his male friend was shot in the left thigh during the brazen attack, which happened around 9:50 p.m. at the fast-food restaurant at the intersection of White Plains Road and Mace Avenue.
Both children are in stable condition at Jacobi Hospital Medical Center, police said.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call and found two injured victims outside, according to a law enforcement source.
The suspect was reportedly wearing black clothing and a black hoodie with a pink logo.
Investigators found six shell casings at the scene, officials said.
Police said the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
The Post reported last month that gun violence targeting teenagers was on the rise in the city.
Last month in Brooklyn, a 9-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet while playing with her cousin.
In another troubling incident, a 12-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his 14-year-old cousin in Brooklyn, and in May a bloody week in New York left two teenagers dead and six injured.
