A shooting occurred in Detroit, leaving two dead and 19 injured.

According to Detroit police, the victims were at a block party when gunfire erupted around 2:25 a.m. Sunday near Reno and Rossini streets.
The victims ranged in age from 17 to 28 years old.
The victims, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, were shot in the back and head. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
One of the victims, a 17-year-old girl, is reportedly in critical condition, 13 others are in serious condition, three are in stable condition, and several of the victims have undergone surgery.

“The problem is these shootings are becoming commonplace,” Detroit Police Chief Ricardo Moore said. Detroit News“When January 1st comes, police will say crime is down, but then we’ll start all over again. The only people who profit from crime in Detroit are the funeral homes, the hospitals and the florists.”
Michigan State Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
