25-year-old woman loses unborn baby and dies days later after suffering headaches

The family of a young Queensland woman is searching for a cause after she lost her unborn baby and died eight days after suffering from headaches.

Olivia Harlow died June 24 at age 25 after multiple trips to the hospital and being sent home, her family said.

Stephanie Harlow, Olivia’s sister-in-law, who set up a fundraising page on behalf of Olivia’s partner Ryan Stevenson, said: Daily Mail She presented to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in her 34th week of pregnancy complaining of headaches and blurred vision.

She was supposedly sent home to rest, but two weeks later, on June 16, she noticed her baby wasn’t moving, so she rushed back to the hospital where she was sadly informed that her daughter had died.

Stephanie told the magazine that Olivia stayed in hospital for a few days after giving birth and was then released, only to return a few days later complaining of a severe headache.

“They told her she would still be stressed from what she had been through and sent her home,” Stephanie said. Daily Mail.

“The following day, Olivia was found unresponsive in her room by her partner and was rushed to hospital on life support.”

Doctors said they found a tumour in Olivia’s brain, “about the size of two golf balls” in the back of her head.

Olivia, who already has a young daughter, was declared brain dead and taken off life support on June 24.

Her family is waiting for answers as to how this once-healthy woman’s life changed so dramatically in the space of 26 days.

“Obviously this has been a huge blow and a huge shock to the family,” Stephanie wrote on the GoFundMe page.

“Olivia was the most caring and loving mother, partner, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend anyone could ask for.

“On behalf of the family, I am helping to raise funds to give Liv and Adeline a fitting farewell, to help ease Ryan’s financial burden and to give them time to grieve and be with Evalia as they come to terms with this sudden change in their lives.”
