The New York Police Department released video early Monday of a masked suspect in the shooting deaths of two boys, ages 12 and 13, at a McDonald’s in the Bronx over the weekend.
Footage shows the suspect roaming around the fast-food restaurant on White Plains Road just before the shootout happened late Saturday night.
The suspect is seen walking around the McDonald’s wearing a surgical face mask and with his hands in his hooded sweatshirt pockets.
Police were called to the scene after a report of a shooting just before 10 p.m., where the gunman fired at least six shots before fleeing, police said.
Police said when officers arrived on scene they found a 12-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to the back and left leg, and a friend who was being treated for a gunshot wound to the left thigh.
Both children were rushed to Jacobi Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, police said.
A motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.
Police ask that anyone who knows the suspect contact the NYPD Crime Tip Line at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or Crime Prevention Website.
