Stabbing Horror Unfolds in Front of Children at New York Theme Park

A tourist on a family vacation at a New York theme park over the Fourth of July weekend was stabbed and left in critical condition, authorities said.

Daniel Tomaski, 42, of Long Island, Attacked James Barnes, 47, of Edgewater, Florida, was killed after a family argument at Adventureland amusement park in Farmingdale. Daily Mail report.

Suffolk County police said Barnes and Tomaski knew each other, but it was unclear if the two families visited the park together on Sunday.

According to the outlet, “children watched in horror” as Tomaski allegedly stabbed Barnes in the stomach.

Arrest records obtained by the magazine revealed that the suspect had multiple weapons offenses dating back to 2001.

Barnes was taken to an area hospital in “serious condition,” ABC7NY reported. report.

Brookhaven Mayor Dan Panico was at Adventureland with his family when he witnessed the brutal aftermath of the stabbing.

Panico added that he hopes Barnes makes a full recovery and said it was sad that a “senseless act of violence” occurred at a family-friendly park.

Suffolk County Police arrested Tomaski at the scene and charged him with multiple counts of assault in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
